Molly Anderson has more than 20 years experience in the mental health field. She carries a LMSW a license, which makes her qualified to perform nonclinical social work.
Molly is from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 2009 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, with a minor in childhood and adolescent studies. In 2012, she received a Master’s Degree from UW-Milwaukee in Social Work.
In 2012, she began working at St. Aemilian-Lakeside Inc. as a school-based counselor. Her areas of expertise included:
- Providing early intervention to at-risk youth (focusing on improving school behavior and performance)
- Provide family therapy and support in the home and the community.
- Provide training opportunities for teachers and staff on mental health issues, and integrating effective classroom strategies for dealing with positive behavioral interventions.
In 2014, she moved to Michigan, first working for The Guidance Center in Southgate, Michigan, as a school-based counselor. There she:
- Provided individual and group services to at-risk youth (including in the LGBTQ+ community).
- Taught students new skills and tools to address emotional and social challenges through the use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, a trauma-informed care approach, and motivational interviewing.
- Provided crisis intervention services.
In 2015, she began her work as a School Social Worker at Global Educational Excellence in Ann Arbor, Michigan. There she:
- Provided social work services for special and general educations students in grade Pre-K through 12th across three schools.
- Introduced yoga into school social work practice.
- Provided teacher training on helping students regulate their senses and emotions with respect to trauma and poverty.
- Provided whole-class leadership and team building activities.
